Overwhelming Fear of Death
by Perversion of a truth indo any of the posters on here deal with this?
i do, and i hate it.
people (mostly my brother) tells me to not fear death and just to enjoy life and so on, but that doesn't seem to help any.

Start believing in an afterlife - sorted.
This is why believers win either way - even if they are wrong they face death as not the end but a transition.
You need some sort of spirtual belief.

Top evolution researchers agree: There is A Creator! The Watchtower is Right!
by mariu inokay, it's just one scientist: http://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/g201404/frederic-dumoulin-interview/.
but he's a very eminent one!.
for more than a decade, frederic dumoulin has worked in the field of pharmaceutical research ... studied the effects of medications and toxins on living creatures ... such design simply could not have evolved.

I personally have never had something like this happen to me but I know a number of people who have had supernatural experiences.
One experience involved a colleague of mine - 5 people experienced it at the same time.
Driving along a road, (Eaglesham Moor Road, south of Glasgow near Whitelee Wndfarm) 5 people in car. It was dark, late at night. Suddenly someone jumps in front of the car right in the middle of the road, Driver slams on brakes, the "man" in the road goes straight through the car, temperature in car plummets to the point of frost forming instantly on inside of glass. Car Stops, they all jump out - no one to be seen anywhere. get back in car and get the hell out of there!!!
All 5 saw this, none of whom are religious.
Interestngly this happened near a junction that is renowned for car accidents...
I understand that many people flatly reject such things - but if someone does not believe in a spirit realm or indeed in a God they "must" reject them.

SPFW - I was like you once - defending the J Dubs...... Take it from me - it is futile.... Its a man made religion plain and simple.
When i first came here I was still an elder with the JW helmet on, but in time reality set in.
It is a massive transition from being in to coming out - but me and Mrs Scotsman have no regrets whatsoever.
If you are happy being in, this is fine by me - but do not try an defend the org...

Things are about to get interesting....
by msconcerned inup until now people have just looked at me in a wierd way after i have shown them some bible verses and asked "what does that mean".
i have just resigned as an ms, so i expect things to be a little bumpy from here.
i have such mixed emotions right now, many years in the truth and now the doubts im having are messing up my head.

Many in here have had a similar experience. I resigned as an Elder in 2007 - a very difficult time indeed.
But - there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. You will not regret the steps you are taking.

You atheist really annoyed me
by confusedandalone inwhen i first came to this site.
whenever i would try to talk about somethign from the bible that the jw's got wrong or reason on a scripture that had so much feeling you would stomp all over it.
talking about "flying spaghetti gods" and laugh at what seemed to be my expense and then leave the thread never to return and add any substance.

Cofty has asked you to convey your thoughts to him by P.M, kindly do so, this thread is not the place for the sort of post you just wrote
Sorry - but are you Cofty's secretary or something - he is quite capable of speaking for himself as has been demonstrated.
And to suggest that somehow my comments are not appropriate for this site but you saying nothing regarding other posts on here reveals your true intent / feelings on the matter. And I quote the purpose of this forum -
The place to discuss anything relating to Jehovah's Witnesses and the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society
I am interested in helping people escape the Watchtower cult not have meaningless debates.
End of.

If I spoke to a believer like that I would quite rightly be hounded for it.
You do and you are....
What an advert for atheism you truly are....
With such sanctimonious contempt for others you could possible convince a current active JW to re-consider leaving that cult.
I think you (and others) need to remember the general purpose / objective of this site / forum. With master strokes of incomparable hypocrisy you alienate yourself from nearly all others on here.
If you wish to discuss atheism and all its complexities perhaps you should move on to somewhere more appropriate.
